It all adds up to plenty of fun that should appeal to many readers, particularly those who will delight in seeing the familiar tales in their new clothes. I based the book on my experiences interning with the State Attorney’s Office and volunteering with battered women.
One thing that left me feeling unsatisfied about this book, however, is tha Alex Flinn certainly did a good job of retelling some of the classic fairy tales we grew up with.
This was one of Kendra’s fails, due to unseen circumstances. Then, I read a lot of young-adult novels by writers I admired. She is not the mean witch everyone makes her out to be.
It’s not impressive but there’s an underlying tone of intelligence in there somewhere.

But the character that I wanted to throw off of a building and hopefully land on a moving semi-truck was a wicked character by the name of Lisette.

Add all three to Cart Add all three to List. The overall romance — especially at the end — was cheesy. I didn’t really care for the Prince story though he is such a mama’s boy, I liked the princess and the pea though, I liked that she is so sure of who she is and ales care what other people think, she can’t marry a prince that can’t stand to his own mother. It was not a happily ever after and I found myself sad after reading it.
I was born on Long Island and grew up on a street called Salem Court. So Kendra is a witch, and she likes to use her powers to help people in need.
I neither felt sorry for him or Emma. Still I did enjoy the appreciation for bewitchung sister that she at least gets to have once in her life.
I think I write for young-adults because I never quite got over being one. Because of these small factors i felt i could relate to Emma a lot. It was, in fact, the best thing I’ve read in vy while.
The story starts out with how Kendra became a witch and in between little short stories of other bewitchign tales she had a hand in pop up. But not in this case. It’s supposed to be a retelling of the little mermaid.
But it’s all worth it!
So what happens is a girl named Lisette gets dumped on them after her mother dies, apparently her father left them when she was three. By high school, I’d made some friends and gotten involved in various “gifted and talented” performing arts programs. Books by Alex Flinn. I guess I must have nodded or something because, from that point on, every poem I ever akex in school was submitted to Highlights or Cricket magazine.
In comes a step sister she never knew she had from her father. I will absolutely be looking back into the other books that this author has written- I am absolutely bdwitching fan now! That really made beaitching angry because of the message it’s sending out to people. Honestly, the reason why he moved back was so vague. It was written well enough. Bewitcjing a little fragile orphan girl, Lisette was jealous and vengeful; she took everything for Emma, her friends, her boyfriend, even love of her father.
I was really looking forward to this because I really liked Kendra Hilferty’s character in Beastly and I wanted to read more about her life and her personality. This may sound like a lot in a book, but it was not confusing and was very enjoyable. She has a stepdad that she considers her real d I think I may have become a permanent fan of Alex Flinn.
Just won this book! Bewitching can be a beast.
I like her personality, she’s strong and smart, she loves to help even though everything doesn’t go right and she got blame in the end. The story also make a side trip to visit the Titanic and place The Little Mermaid on board. Now because this is Alex Flinn, Cinderella is not the only fairytale in the book.
I hate stories where the beautiful girl is a real jerk. At 1st Emma tries to be the best sister and friend that she can be to Lisette.
